Working in partnership with Liverpool ONE, Culture Liverpool commissioned artists to work with selected schools and members of the Ukrainian community from across the Liverpool City Region to create 7 large-scale pysanka eggs.

The eggs formed part of an ‘eggs-citing’ public art installation in Liverpool ONE. Taking inspiration from the Ukrainian tradition of egg painting or ‘pysanka’, each egg was designed and decorated in a series of artist-led workshops.

The commissioned artists were MrASingh, Caroline Daly, Jo Eyles, Nicola McGovern, Pamela Sullivan and Ruta Staseviciute who worked with selected schools from across the city region including Anfield Primary, St Timothy’s & St Paul’s Infants, Murdishaw Primary, St Joseph The Worker Catholic Primary, St Benedict’s Catholic Primary, Castleway Primary, Leasowe Primary, Eastway Primary, Hayfield School and Eccleston Lane Ends Primary.

The seven egg sculptures were located in Liverpool ONE from Thursday 30 March until Monday 15 May for everyone to see.
