Ruta is a performance designer, maker and artist with extensive experience in puppet, prop and lantern making using a wide range of materials.
Some of her more recent projects include creating four public art installations for the Gothenburg 400 Year Jubilee heritage festival, with one of the artworks being used as the stage for the opening of the festival by the Crown Princes of Sweden.
Ruta has been fortunate to work for over a decade on numerous projects with high-profile companies including Lantern Company, Walk the Plank and Mind the Gap. She has created and performed giant illuminated puppets for various events and parades – Netflix premier for Over the Moon film; Hong Kong Arts in the Park; Lumiere London; Lumiere Leeds; Lumiere Durham and many others.
