ArtsGroupie CIC is thrilled to announce the launch of the 'Ghost Stories for Christmas' contest, a spine-chilling celebration of creativity and community spirit. This contest invites writers aged 16 and over to craft original, Christmas ghost-themed stories for a chance to win exciting prizes and have their work featured on ArtsGroupie's website. The winning entry will have their work performed at Shakespeare North Playhouse on Saturday 16th December. About the Contest: The 'Ghost Stories for Christmas' contest is part of ArtsGroupie CIC's larger project aimed at fostering community unity, combating isolation, and inspiring creativity through the art of storytelling. With 14 community workshops, 9 live performances, and a community-focused approach, this project aims to revive the tradition of winter ghost tales. Performances will include readings from two celebrated British writers, award-winning horror writer, Ramsey Campbell, and comics writer, John Reppion. Contest Details: Theme: Christmas ghost stories. Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 16 and over. Word Limit: Entries must not exceed 500 words. Submission Deadline: Midnight on 12th December 2023. Prizes: 1st Place (Prize worth £150), 2nd Place (Prize worth £75), 3rd Place (Prize worth £25). Winners Announcement: Wednesday, 13th December 2023. Emerging and professional musicians of all genres and disciplines can apply for grants of up to £1,500 to help them access opportunities that will allow them to focus on developing their artistic and professional development at a crucial point in their career.
Support could include short courses, workshops, training and time limited periods of coaching with an expert in the artists chosen field. Eligible artists may be solo instrumentalists, composers, vocalists, singer songwriters or multidisciplinary artists. Bands or ensembles with 6 members or less can also apply.
The funding is being made available through the Help Musicians UK Skills and Professional Development and applications can be submitted at any time.

The band, is an army reserve band (part-time job) based in Liverpool. Our role is to provide musical support to State, Ceremonial, the wider military and the community.
We are a wind band compromising of the familiar woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The musicians in the band comprise of various civilian employment including, music teachers, freelance musicians, a veterinary surgeon, a dentist, a tree surgeon, past music students and Ex regular army musicians. A friendly collective of musicians where music is central to our work and personal enjoyment.

Reel Queer is a FREE 5 year film project (2023-2028) working with people from the LGBTQIA+ community living in the Liverpool City Region.
Courses in Screenwriting, Acting and all aspects of Filmmaking - including composing music for film, are available to people from the community. After the courses you will be able to get involved in film projects creating a series of short films, both drama and documentary. Together we will produce high end drama, documentary and art films for screening, socials, streaming, exhibitions, festivals and broadcast; giving a voice to our community and championing queer film. 2027-28 we will start work on creating a feature film!
