In 2030 it will be 200 years since Stephenson’s Rocket changed the world. The first inter-city railway changed business and culture forever and Liverpool City Region want to mark this moment in the same spirit of innovation which allowed it to happen in the first place!
We’re looking for a dynamic Creative Producer to develop this once-in-a-lifetime project. Working with artists, creatives and key stakeholders you will design a programme of international significance that connects communities, celebrates our heritage, and inspires the next generation. You will develop cross-sectoral projects, help securing funding, and engage both public and private sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Theatre Technician to join Shakespeare North Playhouse's Production and Technical department, supporting a bold creative programme inspired by Prescot's historic connections to William Shakespeare and a real love of storytelling.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the post-holder will be a key operational member of the Production and Technical team, taking responsibility for operating equipment in technical areas within the theatre, performance, and event spaces to ensure the smooth running of Shakespeare North's productions, workshops, and events. They will work on all technical aspects of the production, events and learning programmes as required and will at times act as duty technician, building duty manager and will need to work with and supervise casual, freelance and contractor staff as scheduled by The Head of Production or the Technical Manager. This is a varied role working in the Cockpit Theatre, a traditional 470 seat timber framed Shakespearean theatre, The Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden and The Studio as well as supporting events across the building.

Liverpool’s Royal Court is looking for performers to be part of a Community Company who will perform as part of a major new show taking place in Spring 2025.
The show is an adaptation of David Peace’s novel Red Or Dead which tells the story of Bill Shankly, the legendary manager of Liverpool Football Club. The theatre is looking for community actors to play a pivotal role in the show, with some singing and acting. No experience is necessary, interest in football is a bonus, but not essential.
Director Phillip Breen says the show, and the callout, is an opportunity for people to be part of a project that brings the city together.
“While this is a story about an historic chapter in Liverpool, we want it to illustrate the city of NOW. A passion for theatre and the performing arts is useful but not essential, but no experience is necessary. An interest in football is useful but not essential. We’re looking for people from every walk of life, every background, every community, from very young to very old and every point in between, every footballing persuasion (especially including Evertonians!). The only thing we want is for people to come and get stuck in.”

For sixteen years the Pulp Idol competition has uncovered the best new novelists the city of Liverpool has to offer.
Many new novelists, including Ashleigh Nugent (LOCKS), Ariel Khan (Raising Sparks), James Rice (Alice and the Fly, Walk), Clare Coombes (Definitions), and Philippa Holloway (The Half Life of Snails), have found their first success through Pulp Idol. This competition is unearthing the best new novelists from Liverpool and across the country.
All finalists get their first chapter published in a book of ‘Firsts,’ which is produced in hard copy, a digital manuscript and made available on Amazon Kindle (and free on Kindle Unlimited!). Copies of Pulp Idol – Firsts are sent to agents and publishers.

On behalf of Crewe Town Council, Counterculture are commissioning an artist or collective to research, develop and produce a public realm artwork for Crewe’s Art Trail launching in February 2025.
This will be 1 of 4 new commissions that will form part of the town centre art trail alongside platforming and celebrating existing public art and creative activity in Crewe. Community engagement and/or co-creation will be central to the project and it is essential that the artwork is readily accessible by the local communities. The Liverpool City Region Culture & Creativity Awards recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution that culture and creativity make to our city region. Established in 2019 as part of the Metro Mayor’s commitment to culture, the awards are now in their sixth year.
Nominations for the awards can include an individual, organisation, business, group, or partnership that, has demonstrated outstanding achievement through cultural and/or creative activity over the last year. Our definition of creativity extends to include a wider application and use within technology, innovation, and science in order to develop and introduce new ideas and improved ways of doing things.
Finalists are not chosen based on the number of nominations received by the judging panel for a particular project, group or individual, but rather the quality of the work described. One fantastic nomination is all it takes.
Any arts and cultural events, innovation and creative activity that took place within the Liverpool City Region during the period of 29 October 2023 to 25 October 2024 can be entered. Nominations are completed online and the closing date for entrants and nominations is 5pm, on Friday 25 October 2024.
