China Dream
Contemporary Chinese Arts x Liverpool

 

In a showcase of outstanding new & emerging art, culture & music, China Dream: Contemporary Chinese Arts x Liverpool, presents a celebration of contemporary China as the city hosts one of the world’s most iconic ancient artworks.

China Dream in Partnership with University of Liverpool will be a celebration of the next great cultural powerhouse and the relationship between China & the UK, and Shanghai & Liverpool.

Part of Liverpool 2018, China Dream is a major arts season using ancient & iconic Chinese art to exhibit leading, contemporary arts and culture in China.

Events are happening all round the city – whether you Get There By Train, or by Bus – Plan Your Journey!

The season features three Chapters;

Chapter One

February – June
A celebration of the existing relationship between Liverpool and China through the voices of young Chinese people within the city.

Chapter Two

June – August
A celebration of the best of modern Chinese culture with a focus on our sister city, Shanghai, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the twinning of cities in 2019.
Working with some of the leading artists in Shanghai, who will present their exciting projects in Liverpool, inspired by the China Dream.

Chapter Three

August – October
During the Moon Festival, we will celebrate the best emerging Chinese artists and musicians, which will see some of the biggest names in Chinese music to our UNESCO City of Music.
