Following the Lazygirl lunchtime concert at 1pm, the University of Liverpool Music Department continue their celebration of International Women’s Day.

In 2021 the Music Department held its inaugural Women in Music event spotlighting women in the music industry, incorporating thought-provoking talks and music with panel discussions and audience interaction. Now relaunched as Amplifying Voices, the department is partnering with the Women in Music Technology Society to produce a lunchtime concert followed by an interactive talk that highlights diversity and amplifies voices to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023.

There will be opportunities to ask questions, join in with discussions, and network during the afternoon.

Schedule:

2-2.15pm: Presentation on the current state of Women in Music Technology.
2.15-2.30pm: Panel introductions including Rachel Bell (The Tung Auditorium Technical Co-ordinator), Lisa Colton (Head of the University of Liverpool Music Department), Katie-Ann King (President and Founder of the University of Liverpool Women in Music & Technology Society), Jennifer Morgan (bassist of Lazygirl and alumni of the University of Liverpool Music Department).
2.30-3.30pm: Open discussion.
3.30pm: Networking in the Fröhlich Café Bar
