Culture Liverpool was proud to present a performance and participatory theatre project brought to you by Nwoko Arts, for people living in care homes and their loved ones.
We wanted everyone to enjoy Eurovision and ‘Songs for Europe’ brought fun and music to scores of older people, who couldn’t attend public events, ensuring they are actively involved in the ‘EuroFestival’.
Created in partnership with care home residents, the Nwoko Arts team devised a 45-minute performance that included some of Eurovision’s greatest hits. Residents had the chance to sing along to Boom Bang-A-Bang, Puppet on a String, Waterloo and more, as the show tours 20 care homes throughout Liverpool.
Public performances took place at the Unity Theatre in April 2023.
