Liverpool is steeped in maritime history.
A history that transformed the world and the impetus behind why the city along with the prestigious cruise line Cunard marked a significant moment in May 2015. That moment being 175 years since the first transatlantic passenger liner left Liverpool for the United States.
This unforgettable celebration formed part of a 7 week programme of cultural activities entitled ‘One Magnificent City’.
As part of this extensive programme Culture Liverpool partnered with the Liverpool School Improvement Services to create numeracy, literacy and early years activities connected to Liverpool’s unique history. The ‘One Magnificent City’ learning link is available to view below.
