This summer will see the much-anticipated return of Liverpool Art Fair, with the highly successful event taking place at the iconic Royal Liver Building for the first time.

The event, which is free to attend, will be open to the public from 30th June to 20th August, Tuesday – Sunday, 12pm-6pm. Visitors will be able to view an amazing array of paintings, sculptures and prints by 175 local artists. Art prices start at £20, there is a large ‘under £200’ section and everything is under £2000, ensuring there is something for every pocket!

Liverpool Art Fair is an annual event, aiming to showcase a wide range of affordable original art by a plethora of local artists; providing a unique insight into the region’s creative talent and the opportunity for everyone, from seasoned collector to first time art buyer, to own their own piece of the Liverpool art world.

Pre-pandemic the event ran for eight years, launching in May 2012 as part of the inaugural Liverpool Art Month, at the then brand new Camp and Furnace. In 2017, it relocated to the Pier Head, in a purpose-built gallery constructed from five shipping containers. In 2019 it moved to Metquarter, where it ran for 80 consecutive days. In total the event has welcomed over 50,000 art lovers and showcased work by more than 1700 artists.

Artists were selected from an open call, with anyone based within a 35 mile radius eligible to apply. A selection panel, made up of; Sarah Lovell, Lead Officer for Culture at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Faith Bebbington, sculptor, Patrick Kirk-Smith, editor and director of ArtinLiverpool, and Angela Samata, arts professional and broadcaster, had the unenviable task of whittling down the almost 300 artists who applied.

During the seven weeks of the fair, a packed events programme will take place including Saturday creative workshops with our partners Cass Art, Beginners Guides to Buying Art drop-in sessions, and a programme of events designed to support artists and creatives to start and grow their own businesses, in partnership with the BIPC (Business and Intellectual Property Centre). All events will be free; keep checking our website liverpoolartfair.com and socials for more details and booking information.

The Liverpool Art Fair People’s Choice Award will also be returning, with visitors able to vote for their favourite artist up to the beginning of August. The lucky winner will receive a host of prizes, including an exhibition at the Cass Art Liverpool store and their art work displayed on Open Media’s advertising screens across the city! As our Media Partner, Open Media will also be helping us to spread the word about the event throughout the summer.

Liverpool Art Fair is also sponsored by CBRE, who manage the Royal Liver Building, and Evelyn Partners; we are incredibly grateful for their generous support.

Lucy Byrne, Managing Director of organisers dot-art said:

“We are over the moon to be bringing Liverpool Art Fair back after a pandemic enforced 4 year break, and to be in the city’s most iconic building is the icing on the cake! The response from the creative community has been incredibly positive (we are showcasing more artists than ever before) and we cannot wait to share their amazing artwork with locals and tourists alike this summer.”
