1. All images must be deemed to be publicly acceptable for non-censored display, in line with the law
2. The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers. Amateur and professional entries will not be judged separately. Employees of LOOK are not eligible to enter
3. No more than three images may be entered by each applicant. If more are submitted only the first three will be entered
4. The first place winners in each stage will be awarded the title “First stage winner” and “Second stage winner”, there are no sub-categories to the stages. Discretional ‘highly commended’ and ‘commended’ awards may also be given but do not receive a further title
5. There will be an overall ‘LOOK/15 Photographer of the Year’ chosen from the winners of both stages
6. Entries will be accepted online via onemagnificentcity website only
7. Prints or entries via e-mail or disc will not be accepted
8. All photos entered must be submitted with the requested information. Without this, entries will not be put in to the competition. If LOOK try to contact you without success, your work will not go into the competition
9. Any photograph that has won a prize in another major photographic competition will be ineligible for entry into the competition
10. Photos from any world location may be submitted as long as they refer to the brief ‘Women and the City’
11. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary permissions are obtained from any person featured in a photograph
12. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary permissions are obtained from creator of the image. Work submitted with full supporting details will be considered to have been given full permission for use. By submitting images you confirm that you are the copyright holder and creator of the image and you will be responsible for any claims made by any third party
13. Copyright will remain with the photographer. However by entering this competition the photographer/entrant agrees that LOOK, Liverpool City Council or Liverpool ONE may use the images for exhibition, publication or promotional use in relation to LOOK work, One Magnificent City and Three Queens promotional materials or Liverpool ONE’s supporting promotional materials for One Magnificent City
14. The judges’ decision is final. The Judges will be representatives appointed by LOOK from LOOK’s network, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool ONE
15. Closing date for Stage One entries is midnight 24 April 2015. Stage Two opens thereafter, closing on 27 May 2015
16. Title-winners (only) will be notified of results by the end of the festival
17. The judges reserve the right not to make any award if, in their opinion, none of the entries meet the required standard
18. If there is any doubt, LOOK will decide whether or not a photograph fulfils particular criteria. If it does not, it will be withdrawn. LOOK’s decision is final
19. In entering the LOOK/15 photographic competition, you understand that information relating to your entry will be passed to carefully selected third parties for processing purposes only, and you will receive information from LOOK, relating to LOOK activities, events, products, services and fundraising.
