Liverpool is set to mark the anniversary of Eurovision in Liverpool with a whole host of activity taking place across the city.

The Bluecoat will showcase Fly High, a special art installation by artist Andrea Ku from B4 Biodiversity, which will display beautiful blue and yellow butterfly lanterns created during family sessions.

A rainbow carpeted premiere of feature documentary QUEEROVISION by First Take will take place in a top secret location.

And there will be special Eurovision screenings with a twist happening in popular venues across the city.

Treasure-hunt spectacular Spot Sonia has been reimagined for 2024, this time with very well-known Eurovision legends the VENGABOYS in Spot The Venga.

Ahead of their headline performance at Exhibition Centre Liverpool on Saturday 11th May and in celebration of Eurovision week 2024, images of the Europop party icons will be hidden around Liverpool city centre for players to hunt down and win prizes.

The game will take place across the day on Thursday 9 May and here’s how it will work:

  • Those taking part will need to follow Visit Liverpool on socials (@VisitLiverpool on Twitter, @VisitLiverpool.com on Facebook and @visitliverpool_ on Instagram)
  • On 9 May clues will be released on social media which will lead people to locations where an image of one of the Vengaboys will be waiting.
  • Players will need to find at least one of the locations and take a selfie with the image.
  • Each image needs to be posted on Instagram (grid or stories), tagging in Visit Liverpool by 5pm.
  • Winners will be selected at random to win a number of exciting prizes.

Prizes to be won:

  • Two pairs of tickets to Malmö on the Mersey on Saturday 11th May
  • Eurovision shopper bags
