Join staff from Liverpool Record Office and The National Trust to see a selection of photographs spanning 80 years from the 1920s to the 2000s, showcasing Liverpool’s rich maritime history.

Come and see images from Liverpool’s City Engineers collection which includes aerial views of the docks and Pier Head, along with images of the iconic Cunard building from our Photographs and Small Prints Collection.

Edward Chambré Hardman was a renowned Liverpool-based portrait and landscape photographer. His former studio at 59 Rodney Street and fascinating photographic collection are cared for by The National Trust. Come and see a selection of Hardman’s photographs taken around the Merseyside waterfront, hear about his connections with Cunard, and discover more about some of his most famous photographs.

There will also be a behind the scenes tour of the archive repositories in Central Library where you can learn more about the storage and conservation of our photographic collections.
