A new recycled sculpture by Faith Bebbingon will take pride of place at Liverpool Central Library for Black History Month.
The paper sculpture titled ‘Celebration’ features a life size figure wearing a robe adorned with a roll call of names acknowledging just some of the many black people who have contributed so much to Liverpool, from Abell the first recorded black citizen, through to modern day community leaders. The artwork plays homage to Liverpool’s black community.
This project has been made possible through funding from Culture Liverpool and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Event Date: Saturday 7th October 2023 - Tuesday 31st October 2023
