Fresh from recording a number of Beatles tracks at Abbey Road Studios, London in their own homage to the Fab Four the Stratford upon Avon Festival Orchestra & Choir will be marking the 50th anniversary of the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by travelling from the home of the Bard to the home of the Beatles to perform their own special tribute.

They are also delighted that their performance will be the opening gig at the Bombed Out Church following the news that this amazing venue will be brought to life once more after it was closed for almost two years for extensive repairs.

The talented amateur orchestra are looking forward to bringing their own arrangements and songs will include A Day in the Life, and She’s Leaving Home. Simon Kemp Musical Director “The Beatles material really lends itself to an orchestra and has rich opportunities for vocal harmony. We’re looking forward to taking those songs that everyone knows and loves and creating an epic event”.

The Bombed Out Church’s Curator and Artistic Director Ambrose Reynolds says, “We’re delighted to reopen the church to the public once again, it’s a chance to start thanking all of the people who have backed us”.
