Jen Falding has worked in the event industry as an event and project manager for the last 21 years, working on high profile events such as Rugby World Cup 99, the Sydney Olympic and Paralympics in 2000 and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Since 2003 she has worked for Culture Liverpool as part of the bid and subsequent delivery of the most successful ever European Capital of Culture in 2008. Most recently she has project managed Transatlantic 175 and One Magnificent City as part of the cities celebration of 175 years of transatlantic passenger travel, both Giant Spectacular visits by world renowned street theatre company Royal de Luxe; Sea Odyssey – a commemoration of 100 years of the sinking of the Titanic in 2012 and Memories of August 1914 in 2014 to commemorate the beginning of WW1, the latter welcoming a million visitors to the free street theatre performance across the entire city over a 4 day period and Poppies Weeping Window, hosting the visit of the Tower of London poppies to Liverpool’s St George’s Hall.

She is now Host City Manager responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the delivery of events and programmes across the city and Merseyside happen in a cohesive and managed way. Her remit includes engaging with external commercial event operators to enhance the city’s event offers by providing a quick link to all of the city’s expertise and knowledge.
