Proxy is a new installation of choreographed light and sound by British artist Louisa Martin that induces a set of particular emotional and physiological states in the viewer.
Sharing Larissa Sansour’s interest in research and interdisciplinary practice, Martin’s work explores how external factors influence both internal experiences and our ideas about what it means to have a body. In Proxy, Martin sets out to rethink our understanding of the singular body, generating an environment in which experiences, sensations and reactions can potentially be transferred between people.
