birds branding shrunk2015 was a magnificent year for Liverpool and we were busy with a bumper year of events once again – we hope you were able to join us along the way and enjoy them?

Bringing the New Year in with a bang, it was Chinese New Year before we joined together with our fantastic cultural partners across the city as the lights went out for LightNight to launch One Magnificent City – a seven week programme of events to keep your summer nights bright!

We rolled along the River with Cunard to bring not one, but three Cunard Queens back to their spiritual home for the historic 3 Queens before continuing our maritime theme with the International Mersey River Festival following not long after. Not ones to end things quietly we finished the summer with our Guinness World Record achievement (thank you Liverpool, we’re in it together) with Transatlantic 175 as we celebrated with another Cunard Queen and a host of events including a record holding catwalk on our very own waterfront.

From fashion to festivals we continued the party with our very own Liverpool International Music Festival now featuring our award winning LIMF Academy with the next generation of musical talent taking to the stage alongside some of the industry’s biggest names!

Things didn’t quiten down after the Summer as we welcomed the Poppies: Weeping Window to the iconic St George’s Hall, a symbol of remembrance and reflection which took us through to the end of the year making for a special Service of Remembrance.

2015 was a busy year and we’ve captured just a few of these moments in our highlights film – why not take a peak and relive the year that was? Unfortunately we’ve not been able to capture everything from Bonfire Night fireworks displays to Cruise Calls to the City Halls but we hope you enjoy a few highlights – see you in 2016!
