This year is the Year of Reading in Liverpool. Throughout the year we are celebrating all things literacy and want everyone to get involved in reading. From comics to cartoons, fact to fiction – reading is fun for all ages!

We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy reading. If you haven’t read a book since school, today is the day that you get back into reading. If you’re a fan of antiques and history, there are fascinating picture led books describing local history in your local library.

Struggling to get teens of their phones? We’ve got you covered, the Liverpool Libraries digital library resource has everything from magazines, revision guides and Harry Potter – all available via laptops, tablets and mobile devices – FREE of charge.

Little readers and children who are still enjoying pictures can enjoy a bedtime story. A  great way to get children on their reading journey is to tune in to our live reading sessions via the Liverpool Reads Facebook group with guest readers in unique venues like the Palm House in Sefton Park. There are also fun challenges like the Summer Reading Challenge, Bear Hunt trail and many more!

These pages help with links to resources for reading online and offline – enjoy.
