Water Tiger 3D Projection

Friday 4th – Sunday 6th February
St Luke’s Bombed Out Church, Leece Street, Liverpool, L1 2TR
6pm – 9pm

Commissioned by Culture Liverpool. Brought you by Focal Studios & Scenegraph

For Chinese New Year, Focal Studios and Scenegraph Studios have created a 3D animated projection of a Water Tiger that has made its home inside St Luke’s church tower. Through projection mapping the tower will be transformed into a pagoda with wonderful Chinese New Year decorations. Audiences will be thrilled to see the tiger interacting with the ornamentation and bounding around the tower – affecting the very architecture itself!

Keep a look out for the tiger feet!

The show lasts 10 minutes and will run on a loop from 6pm – 9pm.

Projections are free but donations are greatly received.

Community Lantern Project

As part of the projections local schools and community groups have been invited to design their own Chinese lanterns to be scanned and incorporated into the show itself. The digital lanterns will be projected onto the tower throughout the evenings.

Corinthian Community Primary School, Kensington Primary School, Pleasant Street Primary School, and Princes Primary School have all taken part in the lantern project, as well as a local Chinese wellbeing group and a Chinese children’s art group. The activity has also been extended to the Chinese community in the city via Pagoda Arts.
