Born in 1982, Victor Hugo Martín Caballero lives and works in both Valladolid and Madrid. He holds a BA in Audiovisual Communication (2005) and an MA in Cinematography from the Escuela de la Cinematografía y el Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM) (2009). His work includes short films, publicity spots and video clips as well as personal projects in photography and video art. His photography attempts to reveal the spirit that lies beneath places, to anchor the sensations they transmit. He explores people’s fears – the darkness, the solitude, the unknown and the incertitude – all of which are recurrent concepts in his projects. He frequently works in an impulsive and visceral way, without interfering with the environment, showing all that exists, even if we have forgotten that it is there, even if it is hidden from first sight.
