Born in 1987 in Travnik (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Tjaša Kalkan lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia. She holds a Master’s degree in Photography from the ADU Film and Theatre University Zagreb and a Bachelor’s degree in German and French Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Her photographic work has been displayed at seven solo exhibitions along with over twenty group exhibitions. She has worked as a set photographer on several international film and has collaborated on many theatre, film, dance, and music projects and festivals. In 2017, she won the Austrian RC Young European Art Award and the Audience Award at the HT Croatian Contemporary Art Competition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb. She has also received a Special Award for best young author at the 2012 Rovinj Photodays Festival.
