Tibetan Dance ‘Fragrance of the Flower in the Wind’. Performed by the Friendship Dance Group as part of the 2018 Chinese New Year Celebrations in Liverpool China Town.

Tibetan dance was developed in a remote mountain region of China. Preserved over the years, this art form accompanies special occasions such as weddings and harvest and religious festivals. The clothing worn by Tibetan men are categorised into three types – Leigui (labour dress), Zhuigui (formal dress) and Zhagui (warrior dress). Women’s clothes, whilst not categorised, are far more extravagant during festivals, events and ceremonies than to those warn on a daily basis.
