Born in the city of Valladolid in 1981, Ricardo Suárez is a graduate in Audiovisual Communication. He has worked as a freelance photojournalist since 2005 for different media, including EFE, ABC, El Norte de Castilla as well as institutions such as Laboratorio de las Artes de Valladolid – LAVA. In 2009, he received a Master’s Degree in “New Documentary-making, New Reality” (“Nuevo Documentalismo, Nueva Realidad”) from the EFTI School in Madrid. Over the past few years his work has focused on personal projects based on a contemporary documental approach. He has also established his own creative space in Valladolid (Spain), called the El Carrusel-Taller de Fotografía. Here he undertakes management and curatorial works and promotes collaborative projects with other artists. He has been represented by the Contemporary Art Gallery Javier Silva since May 2015.
