VisitLiverpool is bringing holiday magic to life this winter with the launch of their new Christmas campaign, “Let It Be Liverpool at Christmas.”

A celebration of festive fun, the campaign invites residents and visitors alike to experience the joy of Liverpool’s holiday spirit, from seasonal events, to dazzling lights, and a host of unforgettable experiences.

Running throughout the Christmas season, “Let It Be Liverpool at Christmas” highlights the region’s festive events calendar including spectacular light displays, Christmas markets, family-friendly entertainment, and opportunities to support local businesses. The campaign not only showcases Liverpool as a premier city break destination for Christmas shopping and dining, but it also underscores the city’s rich cultural heritage, welcoming atmosphere, and traditional festive cheer.

Visitors will see Liverpool ONE transform into a winter wonderland featuring the popular Bar Hütte, a Christmas trail, events and lots of decorations. A 15ft version of the festive favourite Elf on the Shelf will appear at locations around the city for a giant version of the beloved Christmas tradition. The Liverpool Christmas Markets will take over St George’s Plateau once again whilst the Royal Albert Dock will light up the beautiful colonnades for the ultimate festive setting.

It doesn’t stop there for the Christmas fun as wild festive adventures take over Chester Zoo and Knowsley Safari with light trails. Pantos are popping up across the region with ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at Southport’s Atkinson Theatre, ‘Snow White’ at St Helens Theatre and ‘The Further Adventures of Peter Pan’ at The Floral Pavilion. Whilst traditional festive shows and family friendly activities take place at Shakespeare North Theatre, Croxteth Hall and Liverpool Cathedral.

Liverpool is to become the stage for a giant game with The Elf on the Shelf this December as a 15ft version of The Elf on the Shelf Scout Elf will appear at locations across the city centre until Christmas Eve.

Enjoy a variety of festive stalls selling food, drinks, gifts and crafts whilst taking in the live entertainment, rides, and a giant Ferris wheel with the iconic backdrop of St George’s Hall.

Back by popular demand, this immersive sound and light installation by the acclaimed artistic collective Luxmuralis will transform Liverpool Cathedral’s iconic Gothic interior into a stunning canvas of light, sound, and storytelling.
