L’Oréal UK & Ireland partners with The Good Business Festival to launch the L’Oréal Beauty Tech For Good Challenge to find the region’s most innovative start-ups
L’Oréal UK and Ireland has today launched the L’Oréal Beauty Tech For Good Challenge in partnership with The Good Business Festival, to showcase and support innovative beauty start-ups.
The competition is open to new businesses in the UK and Ireland which are using innovation to have a positive environmental or social impact. Shortlisted businesses will be invited to pitch to a panel of experts on stage at The Good Business Festival in Liverpool between 7th and 9th July.
The final competition winner will receive mentoring from L’Oréal’s in-house team of experts for a 4-month acceleration programme, and additional counsel from senior management teams across L’Oréal UK & Ireland.
As the UK’s biggest beauty player with over 30 leading brands including Lancôme, YSL Beauty and Maybelline, L’Oréal is also a leader in beauty tech and has invested in and mentored over 50 start-ups in this space through long running programmes. One such business is envoPAP, a start-up manufacturing sustainable packaging and paper by using renewable sources such as sugarcane waste instead of wood.
The L’Oréal Beauty Tech For Good Challenge follows the launch of L’Oréal For the Future, the business’ 2030 sustainability programme which seeks to accelerate the ongoing transformation of the company towards an increasingly sustainable business model and be a catalyst of change in the beauty sector and beyond.
The Good Business Festival is part of a global movement that believes in the power of business to affect positive change. This three-day festival commissioned by the Metro Mayor and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, is delivered in partnership with Culture Liverpool and Hemingway Design.
