During that time, visitors can take the rare opportunity to marvel at the Hall in all its original grandeur with their Night on the Tiles event, which runs each evening from 6pm-9pm and tickets for this are on sale now.

Each evening guests can take in the spectacle of one of the world’s finest examples of an encaustic tiled floor and walk across the handcrafted mosaic of over 30,000 tiles whilst enjoying a complimentary glass of fizz.

The intricate and exquisite patterned tiled flooring depicts the Liver Birds, the Roman god Neptune, sea nymphs, dolphins and tridents in what was the largest Minton pavement in the world when first constructed.

St George’s Hall Manager, Alan Smith said:

“We ran the Night on the Tiles evenings during the last floor unveiling and they proved hugely popular. They provide guests the opportunity to witness the Hall in all its exquisite glory, and experience what it would have been like to attend an evening here before the floor had to be covered up in the 1860’s. We are expecting these evenings to be extremely popular again and would advise to book early.”
