Join  FACT for a weekend of Lunar New Year celebrations with artists from their current exhibition, in collaboration with Asia-Art-Activism.

Lunar New Year is an international and intergenerational pan-Asian occasion for reconnecting and sharing food in celebration of friendship and family. Get stuck in with a packed weekend of activities where the artwork spills out of the galleries through family-friendly tours and workshops with food, storytelling, making and music.

CURATOR TOUR

Join FACT’s first tour of the weekend with curator in residence, Annie Jael Kwan, for a guided experience of Future Ages Will Wonder. Explore the galleries together, chat about the show and ask questions about the artworks and how they were made.


YELLOW FURRY LULLABY

Breakwater of Youngsook Choi and Taey Iohe present a storytelling performance called Yellow Furry Lullaby. Taking the form of a healing ritual, the collective use Korean national mythology and children’s stories to navigate the trauma of historical and contemporary slavery. Join FACT in the gallery after hours for this intimate performance.

ALTERNATIVE HERITAGE WALK

Yarli Allison will be joined by local researcher Yvonne Foley to uncover and retell the stories which have been hidden or lost throughout parts of the city, specifically exploring old and new Chinatown, revisiting Liverpool’s rich history as a port city.


WORLD WIDE WONTON WORKSHOP

Join FACT for a cooking workshop where we will be learning to make tang yuan, a Chinese and Vietnamese dessert that is often eaten as a symbol of family togetherness and union in celebration of Lunar New Year.
