River of Light is our annual outdoor illuminated art gallery on Liverpool’s Waterfront. This year there will be twelve eye-catching installations for everyone to enjoy. We encourage people to come along and experience some health benefits along the way!
Did you know that the River of Light route is 3km long so you will get a minimum of 3,000 steps in as you walk around taking in the splendour of the installations.
Each installation is unique, so you can expect a 360 sensory experience of colours, sights and sounds. A mindful moment to make you smile and feel good.
Some of the installations are interactive. Don’t be shy, we actively encourage you to get involved, explore and play. Bring your family and friends and enjoy the experience with others. Play is one of the best ways that families can learn, develop and come closer together.
Bring the magic of River of Light into your home with downloadable colouring sheets—perfect for children to enjoy a fun and mindful creative moment.
The theme for this year’s outdoor trail and the engagement programme is Play, tying into Liverpool’s ongoing pledge to become a recognised UNICEF UK Child Friendly City. The initiative highlights the importance of children’s rights to play, recreation, rest, and leisure, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. #ChildFriendlyLpool
