This year, on 6 February 2022, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

This is an unprecedented anniversary, and to celebrate, there are various initiatives and events taking place throughout the year and across a special four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 – Sunday 5 June 2022.

In Liverpool

To mark the occasion in Liverpool we will have a special Lighting The Beacons event on the Liverpool Waterfront to mark Her Majesty’s achievement. Throughout the extended bank holiday weekend, you can also enjoy the city’s Taste Liverpool food and drink festival.

Are there other events that are not part of the Jubilee that weekend?

Yes, there are lots of different events and activities happening over the Jubilee weekend that are not related to the Jubilee and which you may enjoy. You can find full details of these on our events section of this website.

What else in happening?

There will be many events and activities celebrating the Jubilee across the UK Commonwealth and beyond in the months leading up to the special extended bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022. You can find out all about these events on the national Jubilee Celebrations website.
