LIVE UPDATE – Sunday 8 December

Presently there are no plans to cancel viewing for Sunday 8 December.

However, the Yellow Weather Warning for both wind and tidal conditions is continually being monitored and this decision may change at short notice. Your safety is our top priority and we will of course keep you updated should circumstances change

Saturday ticket holders, please note tickets are non-transferable and alternative dates are unavailable due to the ship’s schedule. The Royal Navy, along with Global Ports Holding and Liverpool City Council sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.

Please find FAQs for ticket cancellations below.

Why has public viewing of HMS Prince of Wales been cancelled on Saturday 7 December?

Our top priority is ensuring your safety. Due to the Amber Weather Warning for strong winds on Saturday 7 December, it is not safe to board the ship. As a result, public viewing of HMS Prince of Wales has been cancelled for this date. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can I swap my tickets to a different date or time?

No. All available tickets to go aboard HMS Prince of Wales have already been allocated and we are unfortunately unable to offer alternative viewing times due to the ship’s schedule.

Can I get a refund for my tickets?

Yes, absolutely. Refunds will be processed over the next 7 working days. These are processed manually so Ticket Quarter would be grateful for everyone’s patience whilst this is done. If you have any further queries, please email customerservice@ticketquarter.co.uk

Will I still be able to see the ship?

Yes, you can still view the ship from the quayside at Princes Parade until the ship departs on Monday 9 December.

I have a ticket for Sunday, has the event on Sunday been cancelled too?

No, public viewing on Sunday is currently still scheduled to go ahead. If there are any changes, Ticket Quarter will keep ticket holders informed via email and you can find live updates on the Culture Liverpool website.

In the meanwhile, to make the most of your visit to Liverpool and the HMS Prince of Wales here’s a few helpful tips to make the most of your visit:

  • Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.
  • Visitors to the ship must be able to navigate through narrow corridors and steep staircases as well as being able to climb up vertical ladders. There will also be stairs to climb to gain access onto the ship.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your allocated admission time to allow enough time for security checks.
  • Bag searches will take place. One bag no larger than A4 is permitted per person. Anything larger will not be allowed on board and will need to be left in an unsecured area at the owner’s risk. No secure lockers will be available.
  • Have your tickets ready for scanning.
  • No food is allowed to be brought on or consumed on board.
  • Only one 500ml sealed bottle of water per person is allowed on board.
  • No prams or pushchairs are allowed on board. A ‘buggy park’ will be in operation. Children must be carried or be able to walk.

Where can I check for updates about the Sunday event?

You can find the latest updates on the Culture Liverpool website. All ticket holders will be notified of any updates via email from Ticket Quarter.
