To celebrate International Women’s Day 2018, musician/writer Lizzie Nunnery and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Vidar Norheim present a unique performance combining song, live soundtrack, poetry and monologue on the theme of freedom and escape. The show will feature new works, alongside extracts from their award winning play with songs Narvik (Best New Play, UK Theatre Awards 2017) and their recent Adrian Henri inspired piece Horny Handed Tons of Soil.

Lizzie Nunnery has played across the UK and Norway, and in 2012 performed at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and Belfast Waterfront Hall with The Irish Sea Sessions. She is also an award-winning playwright. Her play with songs Narvik (Box of Tricks National Tour Jan-March 2017, Norwegian Tour with Nordland Theatre Autumn 2018), was shortlisted for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award and won Best New Play in the UK Theatre Awards 2017. Other recent work includes play with songs The Sum (Everyman, May-June 2017) with the theatre’s new rep company, The Snow Dragons (National Theatre, Connections Festival, July 2017), and Horny Handed Tons of Soil (Unity Theatre Liverpool, July 2017, National Tour Spring 2018) a live poetry and music piece commissioned to mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Mersey Sound anthology.

Vidar Norheim is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Norway, now based in Liverpool. His debut EP Blind Carbon Copy was released in 2015 in the UK, Japan and Norway. Vidar has toured worldwide as a member of Liverpool’s alt pop unit Wave Machines with highlights including Glastonbury, SXSW and BBC Electric Proms. He has worked as composer and sound designer on numerous successful theatre projects including Narvik(National Tour 2017) and The Sum (Liverpool Everyman 2017) on which he was also musical director. In 2011 he was named as Norway’s most promising song writing talent, winning a place at Song:Expo with some of the worlds leading producers and songwriters.
