Join us for the summer solstice on Wednesday 21st June in Princes Park, hosted by arts and health organisation Squash Nutrition. Pop in to this free, celebratory community get-together marking midsummer’s day, anytime from dawn till dusk! Activities include a dawn breakfast, yoga, forest schools, wild food walks, live music, cooking and family arts activities taking place from sunrise to sunset, whatever the weather, on the longest day of the year.

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year for people living in the northern hemisphere, approximately 17 daylight hours!  It is also the day that the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. Since ancient times most cultures mark the solstice in some way – fires, processions, music, dance, and gatherings to watch the rising of the sun are all part of celebrating this special day.’
