About this Event
No matter what medium you enjoy using, be it paint, pastel or clay, learning the fundamental drawing techniques will further develop your natural drawing ability.
This 10 week art course is designed to develop observational and expressive drawing techniques and skills. This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to explore aspects of their own practise.
Programme
1. Mark Making – using pencil/mixed media to create a wide variety of marks
2. Observation – how we observe the world
3. Synchronising the hand with the eye
4. Tone and shading
5. Marks into meaning, loosening up
6. Tactile drawing
7. Inspiration from other artists work
8. Drawing techniques
9. Still life drawing – pencil
10. Still life drawing – mixed media
Tutor
Sarah Jane Richards is an experienced tutor and artist, who has taught drawing to children and adults for many years.
Materials
Students are asked to provide their own materials. You will be provided with a list of materials with a discounted Cass Art basket 2-3 weeks before the start of the course.
Dates
Monday’s 6:45pm – 9.00pm from 3rd February 2020 (for 10 week course), 11, 17, 24 February & 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 March & 6 April
Cost
£160 for the 10 week course (full course must be booked in advance). It is possible to split this cost into two payments.
