Followed by Peaks of China – Journey from Chinese dynasties to modern China with the vibrant colours and spectacle of costume, music and dance. From traditional Chinese Opera to urban hip hop dance, meet the characters and experience Chinese fashion and dancing with glimpses of Qin and Han, Tang’s Princess, Song’s Baogong, Ming’s bride and groom and Qings fashion qibao.

Family Zone, Great George Square 11:30 – 17:30
Adjacent to the Stage, the Family Zone will be animated throughout the afternoon with activities for the young and old including Shadow Puppet Theatre with VIP Puppets, New Year Lantern-making Workshop with Pagoda Arts, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Workshop with Everyman Playhouse and Liverpool Confucius Institute and street theatre from Movema Dance. The China Dream Stagecoach bus will also be attending with storytelling sessions on board.

Chinese New Year Pre-parade 1.00pm – 3.00pm, City Centre (Bold Street to Liverpool One)
Join us for a sneak preview of the Chinese New Year celebrations with a mini-parade through the city centre, starting at 1.00pm on Bold Street/Newington. The parade will feature Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu Friendship Association with the Dragon dance and Pagoda Arts with performances at Liverpool One.
