Book Art Exhibition: Frankenstein 2018
Liverpool Book Art is delighted to present Frankenstein 2018, in partnership with Liverpool Central Library and Kirkby Gallery. The theme of the exhibition marks 200 years since the first edition of Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein or, The Modern Prometheus’ was published.
This is an opportunity not to be missed, as most of these works have been made especially for this exhibition. Many are one-off, unique works, others have been made in small editions. Many of them are available to buy.
What is book art? A book made by an artist? A hybrid of art and a book? The Frankenstein monster of the art world?
Book artists from around the world have responded to Frankenstein with a hugely creative range of ideas. Some have been stimulated by the themes in the book; others have been inspired by the way the story is told; others have made links between Frankenstein and other classic stories such as Dracula and The Golem. The exhibition showcases the fantastic creativity, imagination and diversity in book art.
Event Date: Monday 14th May – Thursday 9th August 2018
Location: Liverpool Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool L3 8EW
