As the city of Liverpool welcomes the Clipper Race fleet back to our city, there’s a whole host of family friendly performances on the bandstand outside Martin Luther King Jr Building, Salthouse Dock. The performances are from 12pm – 6pm on Saturday and 12pm – 5pm on Sunday and will highlight some of the exciting harbours across the globe that the Clipper Race crews have visited.


Lion Dance and Martial Arts by Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu

Exploring the city and Culture Liverpool’s links with China, Liverpool Hung Gar Kung Fu will take to the bandstand with their colourful Lions and some Kung Fu demonstrations.

Latin American Drums and Dance

LUMA Creation & OLC brings together the wonderful rhythms of CANDOMBE from Uruguay and Latin American dance forms to present an exciting performance which connects Uruguay with Panama and Latin American rhythms and movement. A colourful example of a continent full of life, vibrancy and energy.

Pagoda Arts

Celebrating the city’s links with China, Pagoda Arts will have bring a taste of the East to Liverpool with Tai Chi, Dancing and Little Lions.

British Music Experience Band

Showcasing Britain’s musical highlights, staff members from British Music Experience – an museum telling the story of British Music through costumes, instruments, performance and memorabilia – will take to the bandstand.

Tippin’ it Up will play Irish Traditional music and song on a variety of instruments including, accompanied by their singing voices to highlight Clipper Round the World Yacht Race’s visit to Derry.

New Orleans Jazz – The Street Dixie Band

Showcasing music from the United States, The Street Dixie Band were formed back in 2003 as a new generation of early jazz band. The ensemble contains today’s young up-and-coming players, all of whom continue to revitalise the scene with their flair, excitement and enthusiasm.
