The works in the programme directly borrow, reference and cite from the world of opera, namely compositions from Rameau, Puccini and Leoncavallo. Baird and Blackburn will introduce each work with a commentary providing insight into the original operatic context, borrowing behaviour, expression and significance. This concert and discussion aims to lay the foundation for further investigation and research into the fusing of electroacoustic music and opera.
