Lauryna Sableviciute is a Lithuanian born pianist who has lived and worked in the UK since 1998. She enjoys a busy schedule as an accompanist, chamber musician, musical director and piano tutor at the institutions like RNCM, the BBC, Sheffield University, Edge Hill University and University of Salford.

Lauryna is a true advocate of Contemporary Music and is actively involved in promoting new works from around the world. For example, she has recently spent a significant amount of time recording the complete piano music of Cecil Coles, a Scottish composer who died in World War I. This recording will be released on vinyl in 2018, commemorating 100 years since his death and the end of the First World War.

Lauryna’s love for her own country, Lithuania, is present in many of her solo performances and this evening’s concert will be no exception. For Piano Music from the Baltics she will be blending two very different (yet both very close to her heart) programmes featuring composers of the Baltics such as Ciurlionis, Vasks and Pärt alongside laying a platform for new works by Liverpool Hope University composers such as Ian Percy, Robin Hartwell, James Wishart and others.
