On Saturday 27 June we celebrate Armed Forces Day but the current climate means that we are not able to gather together and celebrate our service men and women as we would normally do as the sensible decision has been made to cancel all major events.

Despite this, we will be joining the nation in coming together to show our support for our Armed Forces through virtual activities, flying the flag and lighting venues across the city. We are also supporting the national theme which dedicates days of Armed Forces week to specific groups of people as detailed below.

  • Monday 22 June: Launch and Global Armed Forces Day (we will be launching the flag at Liverpool Town Hall)
  • Tuesday 23 June: Innovation
  • Wednesday 24 June: Reserves
  • Thursday 25 June: Veterans
  • Friday 26 June: Cadets
  • Saturday 27 June: Armed Forces Day

We have detailed links to resources to help you celebrate our services safely at home on these pages. We encourage you to share your commemorations on the usual Culture Liverpool social media channels, please use #ArmedForcesDay so we can share your activities. We also encourage you to tag @NorthWestRFCA (on Twitter), #ReservesDay #ArmedForcesDay
