Part of the Constellations Presents season, Cetus re-imagines the poetry of the night sky underwater.
- Artist: Kazimier Productions
- Venue: Mann Island Basin
- Time: 5.00pm – 10.00pm
With thanks to Canal and River Trust.
As part of our nine day festival of light, sound and art; River of Light this installation re-imagines the the poetry of the night sky underwater.
Taking its cue from the distant constellation Cetus, this multi-sensory installation is embedded deep under water. As the sun sets the water begins to shimmer and pulsate, bringing to life a distant night sky. Animating the constellation with a giant network of submerged lighting and sound, the piece mimics the ancient Greek myths of the sea monster Cetus himself.
This installation is also part of the Constellations Presents season and is produced by local artistic organisation, Kazimier.
Cetus will be illuminated from 5.00pm until 10.00pm daily.
