Liverpool’s waterfront will be the focus of the International Mersey River Festival including the Mersey River Festival Stage at the Pier Head.

The event will take place at the Albert Dock, Mann Island, Pier Head, Princes Parade and Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal.

To enable the event to take place safely we have had to implement the following road closures:

Friday 3 June

Albert Dock: Will only be closed on this day as a contingency measure if there are large numbers of pedestrians in this area for the Northern Boat Show.

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, Water St, Brunswick St and St Nicholas Place (Royal Liver Buildings) will be closed between 10.00am – 12.00 midnight. Pay and display bays will be suspended in Water St to allow for additional toilets to be situated from Friday morning. St Nicholas Place Pay & Display Car Park will be closed other than for Blue Badge holders for the entire weekend.

 

Saturday 4 June

Albert Dock: 9.00am – 6.00pm

Princes Parade and St Nicholas Place (Crowne Plaza): 9.00am – 6.00pm

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, St Nicholas Place (Royal Liver Buildings), Water St, Brunswick St, Mann Island: 9.00am – 9.00pm

 

Sunday 5 June

Albert Dock: 9.00am – 6.00pm

Princes Parade and St Nicholas Place (Crowne Plaza): 9.00am – 6.00pm

Pier Head, Canada Boulevard, Water St, Brunswick St, Mann Island and St Nicholas Place (Royal Liver Buildings) and 9.00am – 9.00pm

The following arrangements have been put in place to assist:

Albert Dock – Gower St and Kings Parade will remain open and resident’s access will be maintained. These areas will only be closed in the event of an emergency.

Mann Island Development/Port of Liverpool Building – Mann Island will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Access will be maintained for residents via Brunswick St and George’s Dockway.

Museum of Liverpool – Museum disabled parking will be at Brunswick Street by prior arrangement through Museum Reception.

Mersey Ferry Terminal / Matou – Pedestrian access will be maintained, please ensure deliveries are made outside the road closure times.

Crowne Plaza / IOM Steampacket – Access will be maintained via St Nicholas Place (Crowne Plaza).

Taxi Rank – St Nicholas Place – Will remain open in order to service the IOM Steampacket sailings

 

Liver Building – Access to car parks will be maintained for regular permit holders but access will be through the road closure, please have your building access pass available in your car.

Cunard Building – Access to car park will be via Water Street through the road closure, please have proof that you are a permit holder in your vehicle.

Princes Parade – Provision for resident/business vehicles displaced from the car parks on Princes Parade will be allowed to park on the low level car park in William Jessop Way.
