T175 VINTAGE ON THE DOCK LOGO-01Celebrating the finale weekend of Liverpool’s One Magnificent City, the 4 and 5 July play host to Transatlantic 175 – ‘Vintage on the Dock’. A bijou ‘Vintage Festival’ celebrating the decades of British cool will take centre stage at the historic Albert Dock, transforming it into a vintage playground laced with experiences, sights and sounds that trace the history of Liverpool’s 175 year relationship with transatlantic travel.

Experience an authentic celebration of the music, fashion, art, design, film and food of the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and take a look at how British pop culture throughout the decades has been influenced by a special cultural relationship with North America.

image01Come and hear the stories of the Cunard Yanks as they re-live their journey’s on board the Cunard cruises that sailed from port to port.

Sample culinary delights inspired by American cuisine, whether it be from the vast restaurants and cafes of the Dock or the food artisans trading from vintage vehicles.

Join in with pop-up dances from across the decades, from a 20s Charleston to the moves transported back to Liverpool by the seamen who sailed the great ships – let it rock with Jives, Jitter Bug and Lindy Hop.

Explore the Vintage Marketplace with the best traders from the North West and beyond selling fashion, homewares, vintage vinyl and memorabilia from the 1920s through to the 1980s and absorb the eye candy as vintage fans flock to the dock. Kids and adults alike can learn new skills at a series of hands on creative workshops that express a make do and mend sensibility.

image02Make your way to Liverpool ONE’S Chavasse Park to hear music from throughout the decades then sit back, relax and enjoy – entertained by the best, light hearted and immersive street performance that will wander through the grand, industrial architecture of Albert Dock .

And while you’re there, why not take in the works of influential 1950s American artist Jackson Pollock at the Tate Liverpool, immerse yourself in the jazz infused sounds of Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club or connect with the Fab Four at the Beatles Story Museum.
