• very.co.ukWhat does it cost?

Participating in the catwalk show is absolutely free!

  • What do I have to wear?

If you are participating as a group, we would ask you to wear your uniform/kit/costume – an outfit that defines your group.

If you are participating as an individual, we will outline what we expect you to wear depending on what category you will be participating in. Please see the sign up form for more details.

  • When do I need to be available?

You will need to be available for The Very Big Catwalk taking place on 4 July 2015. We advise that you are free between 12 noon-9pm – don’t worry, you won’t be needed this entire time but just be ready to strut your stuff between these times! You will receive more detail on your specific times nearer the fashion show.

You will also be required to attend a rehearsal for the show. These will be held at Liverpool ONE during the six weeks leading up to 4 July on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, lasting up to 3 hours – you must be available on both days but will only be invited to one slot. We will contact participants individually to allocate a slot for your rehearsal however we do want to make this as enjoyable as possible so will work with you collectively to arrange the most suitable slot.

  • I am unable to attend any of the training sessions.  Does this mean I can’t take part?

Unfortunately, you will need to attend a rehearsal before participating in The Very Big Catwalk. Please get in touch if there are any problems with your rehearsal slot and we will try our best to accommodate you/your group.

  • I don’t fit into any of the categories listed, can I still take part?

Yes! We’d love to get as many people involved as possible, so if you have an idea for a new category, then please fill in an application form with your suggestions and we will get back to you.

  • Can I sign up for more than one category and have more than one go on the runway?

Afraid not, this is an attempt to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “Most models on a catwalk” and we have to stick to very strict counting methods which mean that each person can only have one attempt on the catwalk.  Make sure you strut your stuff; it’s your only chance!

  • Am I too young?

If you are participating as part of a group, you can be any age as long as somebody in your group is a responsible adult over the age of 16. If you are signing up as an individual, you must be 16 years of age or older by 3 July 2015.

  • Am I too old?

Absolutely not! You are never too old to strut your stuff on the catwalk!

  • Do I need to be a professional model?

Not at all – everybody is welcome!

  • Do I need to be a particular height?

Not at all – we welcome everyone!

  • Is it only for girls?

Certainly not!

  • Will I get paid?

Unfortunately not.

  • My friends / football team / dance group want to involved – can they be?

Absolutely! Please fill in a group application form.

  • What size does my group have to be?

The bigger the better! Ideally, we would like groups to have at least 25 willing participants. However, if you are a smaller group, either we will try to put you with a similar group or maybe you can try and join up with another group to increase your group size. Please indicate a realistic number for your group in your application. We are trying to break the world record so the more people who participate the better! There is no upper limit for your group size!

  • What is it for?

The city of Liverpool, in partnership with Very.co.uk, will attempt to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the “Most models on a catwalk” in front of Liverpool’s Three Graces. Under the shadow of the Queen Mary 2, the waterfront will be transformed into a public participation event where over 3,500 people from the cities fashion tribes and community groups will join together to strut down the catwalk and tell the story of the city’s community groups and creativity, fashion throughout the 20th and 21st century and the latest high fashion trends. Make a note in your diary; this is an event you do not want to miss out on!

  • Will you provide clothes, makeup and hairdressing?

Unfortunately not, you must provide your own clothing, make-up and hairdressing. Be as creative as you wish!

  • Will you pay my travel?

No, unfortunately expenses will not be covered.

  • What is the existing world record?

The current world record is held by Mexico who managed to get 3,083 people down their runway in Chapultepec Park in 2013.  We know Liverpool can beat this!

As this is a Guinness World Record attempt, there will be lots of cameras and filming equipment about as well as local press. However, we can’t guarantee you or your group will definitely be pictured/filmed.  Please note that some of the images may be used in the future to promote other events.

  • Will I get to meet Wayne Hemingway or any other famous people?

Possibly! Wayne and other local celebrities may be around but we cannot guarantee you will get the opportunity to meet these people.

  • What if I change my mind?

We really hope you don’t! For us to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, we need to get as many people on the catwalk as possible, so we do need commitment from all of our participants.

Obviously some things cannot be avoided, so please let us know as soon as possible if you are no longer able to take part.

If you are still undecided or would like any further information on The Very Big Catwalk then please don’t hesitate to email us.
