Liverpool Hope soars in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide table 2017.
Liverpool Hope University has been recognised as one of the top universities in the UK for teaching excellence and student experience by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.
The Guide, published this weekend, names Liverpool Hope University 2nd in the UK for teaching excellence and 1st in the North West for teaching excellence and student experience.
The university has jumped 30 places in this year’s overall table, making it the third highest ranked modern university in the country and one of two Liverpool-based universities within the top 50 in the UK.
Liverpool Hope is the the only ecumenical university foundation in Europe, and places a strong emphasis on individual student care. Its priorities are student satisfaction and employability, and ‘taking faith seriously’ is among its five key values.
Professor Gerald Pillay, Vice Chancellor and Rector of Liverpool Hope University said: “As we look forward to welcoming our new and returning students, these results show how focused teaching and research, and a commitment to knowing our students one by one, is a model for success. It is also great news for the city to have two Liverpool-based universities within the top 50 in the UK for the first time. I am very pleased that the excellent work of our staff is now gaining public recognition.”
The authors of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017 said: “These outstanding results, delivered by final year students, are the product of a student-focused regime at the modern university which guarantees small-group tutorials with a named tutor each week and that all the teaching delivered should be informed by research.”
