How long is the trail ? There is no set time to walk the trail – you go at your own pace.  We estimate that the route will take approximately 40 – 60 minutes for most people.

 

What’s it about? The festival is themed around environmental issues and about inspiring positive action, and valuing the natural world whilst also having lots of fun!

 

Who’s at it? Everyone is welcome to attend. The event is for audiences of all ages

 

Can I take part? Yes you can. The Lantern Company are running arts workshops at venues right across the city, where you can make a lantern or illuminated creature to bring to the event and become part of the spectacle. General description The gardens and woodlands will be transformed into an extraordinary luminous landscape. There will be lots of illuminated puppets and characters to meet: glowing wolves, giant birds and insects and many other astonishing sights from the forest floor, Expect an unforgettable and thought-provoking journey, and learn how you can help look after our planet better.

 

Is the event  wheelchair/pram friendly Most of the trail is pram and wheelchair friendly.  There are some hills through the trail and there are alternative options for those pushing prams or in wheelchairs.  There will be guides on site to direct you to the alternative routes.

 

What age is the event suitable for? The event is suitable for all ages – young or old.

 

How much is it to attend? Earlybird Tickets to the event (including booking fee) are:

£6.25 per adult and £3.50 for under 16’s. Family tickets (2 adults/ 2 children) £16.50.  Tickets to the workshops are £6.25 per lantern.

Can you buy a family ticket? Yes  event tickets – 2 adults, 2 children at £16.50 including booking fee.

 

Can I buy a ticket on the night? We expect the tickets to sell out before the event.

 

Will I be able to get something to drink and eat at the event? Yes.  There will be a small number of food and drink concessions on site.

 

What should I wear? The Garden Festival site is close to the water front and it  is likely that it will be cold and windy.  Wrap up warm and wear a good pair of shoes or wellies.  It could be wet underfoot. Bring a torch and maybe an umbrella!

 

Is there parking at the venue? There are a limited number of parking spaces at the venue and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis .  Car Park charge – see below.

 

Is there a charge for parking? There is a cost for parking at the venue of  £3 per car/vehicle. Charge to be made at the venue  and CASH only. We do however encourage you to either walk or use public transport where possible.  St Michaels Station is a short distance away and there is a bus stop directly outside of the venue.

 

Is there disabled parking? There are a limited number of disabled parking spaces.  These will be allocated to blue badge holders only.  The same charge of £3 applies to these spaces.

 

Is there any free parking? There is free parking at Otterspool Park and it will take approximately 15 minutes to walk along the waterfront or approx. 5 mins to cycle  to the venue site.

By Bike or on foot: There will be a bike park at the venue which can be used free of charge.

 

Is there any parking outside the venue? No.  There is a traffic order in place along Riverside Drive prohibiting drivers from parking on either side of the road.  This is to prevent congestion on the road.

 

Are there toilets at the venue? There are a limited number of public and wheelchair accessible toilets at the event.
